Liverpool are set to make a £15.4million bid for Rennes midfielder Benjamin Andre.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp let Lucas Leiva exit Anfield for Lazio earlier this summer.

And Andre appears to be Klopp's choice to replace the Brazilian.

According to French newspaper Le Telegramme, Liverpool have extensively scouted 26-year-old Andre.

The club are keen to get a deal done before the start of the season and are ready to submit a formal bid.

Klopp has strengthened the attacking side of his midfield this summer, with Mohamed Salah joining from Roma.

But the German boss still wants another holding midfielder to help share the load with Emre Can.

Le Telegramme claim an English source has told them that a bid from Liverpool is forthcoming.

Frenchman Andre started his career in Corsica, playing for AC Ajaccio before he earned his move to Rennes in 2014.
