Sporting Club will rival Liverpool in trying to sign Hull's Scotland left-back Andrew Robertson, according to reports in Portugal.

The 23-year-old is expected to be sold by the relegated Tigers this summer and Liverpool were last week reported to be at the front of the queue for his services.

However, the Anfield club now seem to have competition from overseas, with Lisbon giants Sporting also interested in Robertson.

The report claims Hull will demand £10million for the player - the amount that was on the table from both Burnley and Sunderland in the January transfer window.

Current Hull boss Marco Silva used to manage Sporting while another link to Robertson comes from his friend and ex-Dundee United team-mate Ryan Gauld, who is currently on the Lisbon club's books.

Sporting finished third in the Primeira Liga last season and must enter the qualifying round of the Champions League.
