Twenty-two years ago today, Liverpool's most successful manager of all-time, Bob Paisley, sadly passed away at the age of 77.
Initially a reluctant heir to Bill Shankly's throne, former league-winning club captain Paisley established the Reds as the dominant force in English and European football over the course of his nine years in charge.
Six league titles, three European Cups, three League Cups, a UEFA Cup and a UEFA Super Cup were added to the Anfield trophy cabinet during the softly spoken County Durham native's tenure.
Paisley retired at the close of the 1982-83 season having enjoyed one of the greatest managerial careers in the history of football - and with his status as a Liverpool icon secured.
