Jordan Henderson is confident Liverpool will bounce back from their Merseyside derby frustration by getting on the front foot once again instantly.

The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton on Sunday at Anfield in a game they dominated for long periods.

While Henderson acknowledged the disappointment brought on by that result, he is confident Jürgen Klopp’s side can muster the perfect response – starting tonight against West Bromwich Albion.

Writing in his column for ‘This is Anfield’, the captain said: “As a team we take collective responsibility for not finishing the job. It wasn’t an individual or any single moment.

“We were out there together and we had the power to affect the outcome and in the end the result is the result. But I think we’ve shown this season and in the previous seasons that when we suffer a setback – or in this case a kick in the teeth – we have the personalities to bounce back and bounce quickly.

“Kick in the teeth is an apt description, because that’s what it felt like. At full-time the result hurt, it wasn’t a pleasant feeling. With the benefit of perspective the performance was very good and the result not a disaster although clearly not what we wanted or deserved.

“The key now is to react in the right way. We did it after Spurs and we did it after Sevilla. We have to do it again.

“On those previous occasions this season we’ve taken the knock and responded by getting back on the front foot in the games that followed.

“Hopefully tonight we can show we have that ability again and keep this good run of form going.”
