Jürgen Klopp is confident Liverpool's analysis of Maribor will mean they're fully prepared for the challenge of trying to secure three Champions League points in Slovenia on Tuesday night.

The Reds go into tomorrow’s contest aiming to clinch a first win in Group E after draws with Sevilla and Spartak Moscow.

And Klopp acknowledges Liverpool are billed as firm favourites to do just that; however, he insists no-one within the camp will be underestimating the threat of their opponents.

Asked how the Reds have prepared for this fixture, the manager told Liverpoolfc.com on board Monday’s team flight: “The analysis is completely normal as it always is, but usually you know a little bit more before you start the analysis about an opponent.

“It doesn’t happen too often anymore that everything is completely new and that was the case in this preparation, but it’s easy for us to prepare and analyse them. We know about them and it’s not a big difference to other preparations.

“They fought really hard for this Champions League campaign – it’s their ninth Champions League game or something like this for them already. They are very experienced and a really good footballing side – a classical top team of their league. They’re usually champions or second fighting with Ljubliana.

“They are really experienced and confident; they’ve had one good result, one not so good result against Sevilla, but even in that game they had their moments and against Moscow they could have won.

“They’re a good side and so don’t think about the name, don’t think about the league, don’t think about anything else – just respect the opponent. They are really able to hurt each team, but we cannot ignore that we are the favourites. We cannot say it’s not like this, but it’s at their home ground.”

In their first two Champions League games, Maribor have drawn with Spartak Moscow and suffered a 3-0 defeat to Sevilla, results which leave them bottom of the current standings.

Klopp added: “The biggest mistake is always if you think one time before a game something like, ‘This should be three points’ or whatever. You have to work for it, you have to play for it.

“We know about our qualities, we know we should have won both Champions League games so far but we didn’t, so for our situation it is very important and we know that, but we are only flying out there to try and improve our situation.”
