George Daly is not your average nine-year-old.

The Reds fan from Widnes has decided to run the upcoming Liverpool 1K Kids race on Saturday May 5 at Sefton Park in aid of the LFC Foundation.

George, who enjoys playing football for his school team and plays rugby every week for local side Halton Farnworth Hornets, has set a fundraising target of £50.

“I’m raising money for the LFC Foundation so that other children get the chance to play sports and improve their skills,” he explained.

George is determined to beat his time in last year’s run, when he raised £100 for Oddballs – an underwear company that aims to raise awareness of testicular cancer.

His inspiring acts of selflessness support the mission of the Reds’ official charity: to create life-changing opportunities for children and young people.

And that is why George has been named the first ever LFC Foundation Fundraiser of the Month.
