Liverpool FC chief executive officer Peter Moore and ambassador Ian Rush were at the Powerlist Influencers Dinner in London on Tuesday evening to make a special presentation.

The Reds pair were in attendance at Drapers Hall in London to hand over the Powerlist community award to PC Wayne Marques of the British Transport Police.

PC Marques made headlines earlier this year for his heroic actions when he single-handedly took on three terrorists during an attack on London Bridge on June 3, sustaining life-threatening injuries in a bid to protect the general public.

Moore and Rush also handed the officer a special gift on behalf of Liverpool FC, and afterwards the club's CEO tweeted: “An honour for Ian Rush and I to recognise the bravery of PC Marques, a huge Red who tackled the three armed terrorists.”

For the past 11 years, the most powerful and influential British people of African, African Caribbean and African American heritage from across the country have been celebrated in an annual magazine, the Powerlist, which is launched at an elite gala dinner.

This year, the Powerlist Influencers Dinner doubled as the formal launch of the Powerlist.
