Reds fans invited to have their say
From today, fans will have the opportunity to apply to have their say on the biggest issues affecting Liverpool supporters.
The introduction of five fan forums was announced back in May this year as part of the club’s new supporter engagement model.
The forums will allow fans to engage with the club more directly on the issues that matter to them most. They are:
- Ticket Availability Fan Forum
- Ticket Prices Fan Forum
- Stadium Fan Forum
- Local Supporter Engagement Fan Forum
- Equality and Diversity Fan Forum
From today, fans will be able to apply to take part in the forums, with the first two – on Ticket Availability and Ticket Prices – set to take place in September.
For each of these forums, the club is looking for a range of supporters with knowledge and experience of these issues and who are also able to commit to taking part in the forum throughout the season either in person or via video call.
Each of the fan forums will be made up of between eight and 12 supporters, including one seat for Spirit of Shankly, the Liverpool Supporters’ Trust as well as members of the former Liverpool FC Supporters’ Committee bringing their knowledge and experience to the new forums.
Those fans who apply through this process will be selected by an independent organisation.
Fans can apply for each forum they are interested in joining but can sit on only one forum if selected. Applications are accepted online via this link or by completing paper application forms which fans can collect from the Anfield ticket office.
Tony Barrett, head of club and supporter liaison, said: “In keeping with our commitment to improve our engagement with supporters, we are confident that the establishment of fan forums will allow us to make significant progress in that objective, but for that to happen we need fans to come forward and get involved.
“All views and supporters from all backgrounds are welcome; all that is required is a commitment to strengthen the historic bond between Liverpool and our loyal supporters and a readiness to address the issues that our fans have identified as being of utmost importance.
“From the club’s point of view, the more informed we can be about our supporters and their concerns, the better the chance we have of identifying the steps that we need to make to ensure that our engagement with fans is as robust as it possibly can be.”
Applications to be part of the fan forums will be open until Friday August 25. Fans chosen to take part will be notified in the week commencing September 4, with the first two fan forums taking place later in the month.
